Find Ancestors

In the search for my grandad father (who died when my dad was only 11, hence why we dont know anything on him)
I now know that he died on the 18th March 1966 at the age of 69. At this time he was living at 287 The Glade, Shirley, Croydon.
I now have a copy of his marriage certificate to my grandmother and i now know that he was living at the time of the marriage at 29 Bensham Manor Road, Thornton Heath, Surrey. He was married on the 11th August 1945. On the certificate it says that his fathers name was George Burt, who was a laundryman.
Can anyone please help me, How can i find out any other info on my grandfather. It would be great to find out where he was born and when?

Harry is on that 1901 census posted The father George is a Laundryman as quoted on Harry's marriage cert ??

Harry's birth i expect - so he is Harry, not harold or Henry! Could he be a twin? No Florence in 1901 though.

If it were twins, Janet, I'm pretty sure the GRO ref would be the same - it is for my gran and her twin in 1918. They could be cousins, though.

Can anyone tell me how i can find out the D.O.B of my grandfather (harry burt)
As the only date i have is that he was born in 1897, married on 11/08/45 and died18/03/1966. Would be lovely to know when his birthday was.

I'm afraid that information can only be obtained from his birth certificate which can be ordered from the GRO.

If a person dies after 1969 the date of birth is on the registration. In Harrys case he died before so cert needed
