Hi - I'm new to this, but am trying to find some relatives that now live in Australia. from Scotland.

I would be grateful for any help at all, as the following is all the information I have, and my 95 yr old grandma would love to know more, but her memory is not so good on details.

My grandmother Mary Boyle (1914) had a few siblings, but in particular a sister Cath Boyle (1906) born and brought up in Glasgow. (Daughters of Janet Cosgrove & WIlliam Boyle)
Cath took a ship from Glasgow to Perth and married Mr ?? Harris. They had 2 sons Keith or Kenneth Harris (guess c1928) and Raymond Harris (guess c 1931). They lived near Freemantle, Perth.

I believe her husband died (Mr Harris) and Cath married again (c 1988) to Mr ?? Tate. The last address we have is: Etifa Avenue, Graylands, W Australia.

Cath died a couple of years ago, but apparently has grandchildren whom I would love to track down (as I have recently emigrated to Australia from UK).

I have no idea what direction to head now, so any help would be hugely appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Fiona

A Miss Catherine Boyle arrived in Fremantle from London aboard 'Orsova' on 20th Sep 1927. It appears she travelled alone. You can request a copy of her record at http://naa12.naa.gov.au/scripts/PassengerSearch.asp

There is a possible WA marriage match with a Catherine BOYLE marrying Gordon W HARRIS in East Coolgardie district in 1934 (reg 95). Can't see any others.

A Gordon Frederick Wm HARRIS died in Graylands WA aged 59 on 18th May 1967 and he was buried at Fremantle Cemetery. The Graylands link seems to be a good match here.

Hope you have some luck.

Cheers
Cherilyn

Hi Fiona, Think that address must be 'Erica Ave' Graylands. Couldn't see any death for Catherine (Tate or Harris).... The West Aus State Library (on-line) will check electoral rolls for Catherine ...and her sons should appear too from about 1955+. They will also check any newspaper death notice for Gordon Harris d18/5/1967 ..(for sons' names etc)....Valerie (WA)
