Hi I'm trying to find some information about my grandmother and her father/Mother. Her name was Irene Green, born c.1900 in the Isle of Man - she had 4 sister's Nellie, Vera, Vera-Gwen and Ethel and a brother called William. Her father was Arthur and her mother Emily (nee Wootton) Emily was born in the Isle of Man - don't know where or when she met arthur (could have been another name) . By all acounts he was a showman - so travelled around alot He must have made some money because we think he died in a gentleman's club in London somewhere, after he had lost his leg because of an injury. Emily also had died in London somwhere. Tried census and bmd - but don't really know where to look - so any advice would be appriciated. Is there a list of showman/fairman anywhere? |
