Find Ancestors

Trying to find my Grandfathers family. He was Allan Grant,lived in India for many years. He had a son Trevor from his first marriage, and my Mother Heather Jane,from his second marriage. Wife of 2nd marriage was Beatrice Maud Kunning. Allans father may have been a Doctor and his name was Samuel Waldon Grant. The family had roots in Inverness. If anyone can help I'd be SO grateful. This Allan Grant was my great great uncle.Allan and Mary(Maisie)Grant had three children,Noel,Robin and Jean.Mary died in 1913 in India.Would love to know what else you know about your Allan Grant-we must be cousins!

It appears that Allan's father Samuel Walton Grant had married twice in Bengal, as there were children to both Mary Annie and Harriette Augusta. Not too sure which mother was Allan's, but more likely be Mary Annie as Harriette's child was born in Dec 1881.

Sorry all. I did not realise that I had so many answers! I am going to troll through them and see what I think. But Allans father was Samuel , and I always thought that his second name was Waldron, but that could easily be Walton. Allan remarried in 1914 in London, so if Mary died in 1913 that would also seem to be correct. I have no idea wjhere Trevor was born, or what happened to him. And yes the ships log was correct, that was Allan,his 2nd wife Beatrice and mymother Heather then age 13. I don't know where any of them were buried, but my Mother always said that Allan was born and buried in Inverness. Thank you all,and so sorry to have taken so long to reply.

This is all so amazing.I too didn't realise so much had been added in the last day or two.I've been searching for years for any trace of Allan Grant,and suddenly it comes to light!
All the other people you have posted are my relatives!William Sandford Jervis was my great,great uncle,and he did indeed marry my great-great aunt from the Grant family.They had no children of their own,but brought up Allan and Maisie's younger two when Maisie died prematurely.
