HI MY GRANDA'S NAME IS FREDRICK GOWER BORN 1914. HE WAS ONE OF 8 OR MORE FROM MILE END LONDON. PARENTS NAMES HENRY AND CAROLINE WHO I BELIEVE DIED AROUND 1950- 70. HE LEFT HOME AND JOINED THE ARMY AROUND 1930. I AM TRY TO LOCATE HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS OR THEIR FAMILY. I KNOW ONE IS CALLED EDWARD KNOWN AS TED AND A SISTER CALLED ELIZABETH. I HAVE TRACED MY GT GT GRAND FATHER IN THE SAME AREA HIS NAME WAS WILLIAM AND MARRIED SARAH. ITS A BIG FAMILY!

Dear Karen
I have just come across the message you left on Genes Reunited and I hope that I can help. It is just possible that we share the same Gt.Gt Grandfather and Mother.

I have William Gower married to Sarah Lewis in 1860.
In 1881 they lived in Maplin St, Mile End. They had 10 children. One of which was Henry Gower (Born 1871) who married Caroline. I am pretty sure they had two children, Henry Gower born 1898 and Elizabeth born 1900.

The other children born to William (who we call William the Farrier, as that was his trade) and Sarah
were:

Charles Born 1867 - my Great Grandfather.
(Who subsequently married Florence in 1889)
They had 3 children, one of which was Charles my
grandfather. Charles married my grandmother also called Florence and they had 9 children, of which 8 are still alive.. My father is now 80 and has an elder sister of 82.

Alfred Gower born 1868 I think he married Katharine Holland.

William Alfred Gower born 1865 married Elizabeth

Daniel Gower married Mary Helvetia Carrociero.
They had 3 children.

Emma Gower born 1863 married ?

Caroline Gower born 1880 married William Pike

Frederick Gower born 1874. I only know that Frederick lived with his widowed mother Sarah in Giraud St. Poplar and worked on the docks. I have no marriage details(if any?)

Albert Gower Born 1883 (no marriage details) but worked with Frederick at the docks.

Sarah Jane Born 1861 (I think she was the first born and died in infancy.

Well if this is your line then I have traced it back to 1777.
