Looking for Edward Arthur Goodall

Hoping someone out there sees this message and connects with the name, date and address. Looking for anyone who knows anything about my grandfather, Edward Arthur Goodall born 28 Feb 1892 at home, 52 Malt House Road, Landport, Portsea. His father was Thomas Goodall and his mother, Mary Ann Alena Goodall, formerly Batt. This is a long shot in the dark, but there is always hope.

Edward emigrated to India around 1916 or thereabouts and eventually settled in Calcutta. He married a Portuguese girl, Agnes D'Costa in 1917. He died in his early 30s. They had two children, a boy called Edward and Margaret. Agnes died in 1927. The son, Edward was adopted by an English couple named Shaw and returned to the UK sometime late 1920s or early 1930s. Margaret was put into an orphanage. She died last year not ever having met her brother. I doubt Edward is still living as he was older to her. If anyone has any information I would appreciate if they could get in touch with me.

Hello Wilma,

I have just read your Posting and wondered if you were certain of having the birth of Your Edward Arthur Goodall, as I found the following from a Free BMD search

Name: Edward Arthur Goodall
Birth: Registered Mar 1892 - Portsea Island (1837-1900), Hampshire


Name: Edward Arthur Goodall
Birth: abt 1892
Death: Sep 1893 - Portsea Island (1837-1900), Hampshire

it seems that this particular person died a year later.
