Hi Is anyone able to help me, I am trying to work out if I am on the right tree, I have Martha Eunice Goatley married to a John Tile in 1860 Kent (although Emma is her 2nd name there) The same Martha marries William Easter, in 1889 Southwark.
On Martha's christianing record her father name is given as Thomas and her mother's name is Esther , not sure if Esther;s surname is Loncast.

I have marriage cetificate for Thomas Anton Whiting married to Emma Easter, in 1878 Southwark. Emma's parents were William Easter and Emma Cause. Date of Emma Causes death 1888 Bermondsey GT London England. William's second wife if I am on the right track should be Martha Eunice Goatley married at 1889. Then came the confusion, when I kept finding a Martha Emma and her parents Thomas (who had the courtesy of keeping to his name) and Martha's mother who I wasn't sure if her name was Esther or Hester surname either Longhurst or Loncast. Hoping I haven't managed to confuse you all, but I would welcome what you think is the right tree

Hi Amanda

I think you're on the right track with this family.

Don't worry about the change of name between Hester and Esther - it depends on how the enumerator 'heard' it when the information was given for the census. If it were my tree I'd be happy this was the same person.

The same goes for Longhurst/Longcast - it could have been misheard/mistranscribed.
