Thanks Christine,its certainly the right family.In the 1851 census Ann Glover is down as a widow.

So he died before 1851 then, no wonder I couldn't find him after 1841 and the children are just listed with initials in 1851.

Hi, yes i have seen those two deaths, but they had their last child in 1849.I have found two more deaths for John, both in 1850, one in Stone district and one in Stafford.

The Sep 1848 is possible as AC on 1851 Ann Catherine was born Dec qtr 1848. West Brom

I suppose it is also possible that the 2 youngest children in 1851 were the married sons children or the unmarried Sarah.

You would need the birth certs obviously to know that for certain.

HI, Could you help me? I have a grandfather called Arthur Glover b 1923 (i am told his father was called John - no mothers name though).

Unfortunately he passed away 1997 and given that my grandmother now has dementia, I am really struggling and lacking any information.

He was i believe living around Woolstanton area during his childhood and later moved to bentilee/longton in his adult life. I did hear once of an uncle John (glover) of the stone area - possible wife's name Em, Emily or Eve.
