Find Ancestors

As far as I can establish the name Glackin originates in Donegal, however, my branch live in Scotland and can only trace our roots back from Scotland to Coalisland in Co.Tyrone, where my Great-grand parents were born. Any info on Glackins from Tyrone in the 1840 - 50's, or how they arrived there, would be greatfully received.

Sorry it's taken me so long to come back to you, I'd forgotten all about this posting. The answer to your question is I don't know. I know about my great grandfather John Glackin coming to Scotland and I have found a brother of his, Patrick, who died in Glasgow, but other than that I have no more of his family details. I would guess that there would be more brothers and sisters since his father, also John lived to the age of 70 and his mother Dorothy or Dorothea Grimes to the age of 74, but to date I haven't found them, so if you can shed any light on them I'd be absotulety delighted.

I can only go back to 1902 and thats my Grandad John Glackin born about 1902 he married Margaret Hurl born around 1905 as far as I am aware they were both from Cookstown, Co Tyrone.

Can you do anything with those dates Ann of Green Gables?
