Can any please help find a marrige between Stephen Partington & Susanna Gillet

It seems to be one of those second family issues that is doing my head in.

My cousin Pam gave me a list of uncles and aunts from memory.
I have traced them all but they seem to be the children of a Susannah Doyle.
The same Stephen Partington seems to had two more children for a different women I hope wife

Margery Gillet Partington, born 08/06/1913, address 1 Elizabeth Street, Prestwich, Lancashire
John Gillet Partington, born 27/11/1914
They both have the name Gillet as a second name. But the others don't.

I am presuming if they married between 1910 and 1914

Where did you get the info re Susanna Gillet and is it possible that Sussana Doyle is the same person?

I have been trying the freeBMD but can't get my head round it.
I did have a look at the 1911 census but even though the name of Susanna appears I am presuming it is Susannah Doyle the first wife who was born in Cheshire.

The various census miss spell the name - trust another family member to have married somebody with the same first name.

I honestly spend hours searching before finally asking for help

Any thoughts on the birth registration?????

Can you tell us where you got the Gillet name from? As Eric has pointed out the child with Gillet middle name has the Doyle mother. Why do you believe mum was Sue Gillet?

How do you know that Margery was the daughter of 'your' Stephen?

ericthered found you a birth of John with mmn Doyle in 1815 and as Stephen & Suzanna Doyle married in 1897......................

There were at least 3 Stephen Partington's born in Lancs in what could be considered the right timescale.

I think it really may just be an error and the middle name has been picked up as mums maiden name by mistake?

What kids are with them in 1911?

To the question how I how about Susanna Gillet - She was my cousin Pams grandmother. I have a copy of Margery's marriage cert to my uncle Frank ( dads brother)and her birth cert which clearly has the name.

Pam was wondering why only herself and her junior brother had the middle name of Gillet. She didn't know the others had a differnt mother.

But John has the mother Doyle, doesnt he.

I can't find any birth of a Susannah (or Susan) Gillet. You say margery's birth cert has her mother's maiden name as Susannah Gillet. Is this copy you have a modern handwritten copy or a photocopy of the original?
Could it have been a mistake on the part of the original registrar?

Yes this is the siblings of Margery. I found that one and that is where my confusion started myself.

Pam gave me the names of her mums siblings
Annie, Joseph, Constance, Raymond, baby, Stephen, Margery, John

What made me wonder about the while thing is there is another John Partington MMN Doyle born 1915.

However Raymond Partington was one of the names of Margery' marriage cert along with his wife Olive b4 they got married. They have a daughter Anita who is my cousin Pam cousin and know each other long distance

The 1911 census just has Joseph 11, Raymond 3, and Stephen 4

Susanna mother 40 and Stephen 41 both married 14 years.

It is supposed to be Susannah Doyle and Susanna Gillet no short forms

I dont understand about the "other" John G Partington - the only one is the child with the mother called Doyle.

I do think that the only one who has a cert with Gillet - Margery? Is a mistake.

I agree that Margery's birth certifiate probably has a mistake made by the original registrar, it was not unknown especially when the middle name was like a surname. The other children would not necessarily have the same middle name. It may have been decided to incorporate it after the death of a relative or good friend. I have one family of 10 children where only 4 of them have a middle name - all like a surname (Ward, West & 2 Rimmer's)
