I believe that my grandfather (Frank Garside) was originally from Lancashire. He worked in the mining industry and lived, until his death in 1966, in Askern, Doncaster. His wife was Eliza, I think her maiden name was Bonsall, they had 2 children; my dad, also Frank and Evelyn. Evelyn married Charles Holgate and ran, amongst others, the Bells (pub) in Campsall, Doncaster. Sadly they are both dead. My mother's maiden name was Brown, she had one brother- Walter, who died 2003, and a sister Janet, who died ?2002. Janet married Ralph Kyme. They settled in later years in Ulverstone, Cumbria and have 2 children, Kathy and Jonathan, both now married with children. |
