l am trying to trace my grandmothers father his name was william john garland,l only have bits of information of him is that he sailed to adelaide australia on 9/1/1909,there was a post card from queensland with a house he has got and was asking for my great grandmother to join him[she didnt],he became a policeman later in live as we have got photoesof him in uniform,l have seen the ship records of him sailing but on it he went as my g/gm name of morgan why noone knows,and we dont know if he kept thatname or went back to garland,any information will be gratefully received.We belive he came from surry/sussex but not 100% sure tho,he was in the army in lndia,then became a policeman[no13]l'm not sure where l can get any info on police records or army etc can anyone help please. |
