I am trying to find out more my fathers family. His name is John William Freeman family. My father was an oly child child born in London in 1931 This is what I Know so far. Does this ring any bells. I would be glad of any help My Great Grandfather John William Freeman. I did not know my Great Grandmothers’ names, one of them may be Mathilda (they both died when I was very young). My Grandfather John Henry Thomas married Louisa Nabbs My Grandfather’s brother Joe married Amy and they had a daughter called Joan who married Tom, they had a son called Paul. (As far as I know). There may have been another brother who died in the influenza epidemic. My Great Grandfather lived in Brigg Street on the Isle of Dogs, he and my Grandfather worked for the Manganese Bronze and Brass Company. My Grandfather as a moulder helped to make the propellers for the old Cunard ships, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. My Great-Uncle Joe worked for an opposing firm, Stones of Deptford. We lived in Grove Street Deptford until we were (house and Dad’s firm) bombed out. My Father then moved to Wallasey until his father died, and then moved back to London. |
