Hi. I am trying to loacate information about George Thomas Foster. Born April 1870 in West Ham , Essex. He was in the Royal Navy from 1888 until he went AWOL in Australia in 1908.
In England he was married to Margaret Emma Vincett and had four children. He was warrant gunnery officer on HMS Challenger. After 1908 nothing more is known. Did he have a second family in Sydney Australia where for many years his ship was stationed. Any information would be most welcome. Even advice on how to continue trying to track him. He might well have changed his name when he disappeared.

George's father was John Thomas Foster born about 1850 in Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire. Any news on him would be welcome too. George;s mother was Alice Hawkins and I presume she was from Cambridge area..
Bri Foster.
