Find Ancestors

Hi all,

Wondering if someone can help me.

I am trying to find details of my great grandparents. They are Robert Forrest and Ida forrest (nee Brooks). The emmigrated to New Zealand with my grandfather Robert Charles Forrest (b 18/3/1920). They left the UK in approximately 1926 or thereabouts.

I have been able to find the record of them leaving but am having a lot of trouble in tracing their families (gparents, parents, siblings etc). They were from the Maldon Essex area.

I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone is able to provide or to point me in the right direction. Am trying to break through the brick wall and get my enthusiasm back for tracing my family.

I don't think the birth that Mike found is the right Robert Forrest. The one with the J. C. middle initials married someone called Drain in Kent in 1926.

I knew very little of my great grandparents. My great grandmother died before I was born and she had remarried another man here in NZ. I never knew what happened to my great grandfather. I tried asking my aunty not long ago and she thought that he had returned to the UK so they must have divorced whilst here. So thats another part of the mystery.

Am not yet a member of freebmd but will look into that.

The record I found is not the same as you found.
Mine was a little later. Perhaps they had returned home for a visit.
Can you see if you can work out the address on the one I found?
