Charles Flynn (brother of Thomas living in Accrington) enlisted into the North Staffordshire Regt in Manchester. Believed born in Wigan 1870. Married Maria Hull (or Hill) in Manchester and after serving over 22 years retired and lived for some time in Birmingham working has a Clerk. At the outbreak of the 1st World War re enlisted as a Colour Sgt in his old regt and served until medically dischraged in Dec. 1917. It is believed that he had at least . 1 child born about 1912. Any information about this gentleman greatly appreciated. |

have you found his marriage to Maria? You can check for births, deaths and marriages yourself on freebmd and then using the ref buy the certificate for £7 from GRO online to get further info on your people |

Heather, there is only one on the WW1 pension records, Charles James Arthur William, born 3 January 1912 in Aston, Birmingham, but I can't see a registration for him. |
