I am trying to find a link to an illigitatmate child of my grandfathers we believe that this child was born somewhere around1914 ish in the beaconsfield area my grandfather later went on to marry a nellie buxton and lived in that area working as a gardener.
I know that through family he supported this child financially but we can find no other details my family would really love to find out who this person is! We also know that Nellie had a child outside of wedlock however we do not believe this to be the same child if anyone out there can either point us in the right direction or has any tips to help I would be really greatful.

One possible tip -- a child born to an unmarried mother may have had the father's surname as a middle name (one of my mother's aunts did, and I've encountered numerous others). By no means a hard and fast rule, but a possibility.
I'm not entirely clear here -- George Flatt b 1889 was your grandfather, and it's his child you're looking for?
If so, Flatt is a possible middle name, if the child was registered with the mother's surname.
At the moment, Ancestry/FreeBMD show only one child in that time period with the given name Flatt.
But -- the transcription for that period is not nearly complete.
So -- it's possible that the child isn't transcribed yet.
I'd just keep checking back for children with
- surname Flatt, born around the time and place you suspect
- given name Flatt, ditto
to cover both kids with your grandfather's surname as surname and kids with your grandfather's surname as given name. Of course, the name might not fall into either category, but worth a shot!
I'm not seeing a marriage between a Buxton and a Flatt after 1914, so I'm not sure whether I've got this straight. Most likely it hasn't been transcribed yet.
If Flatt was the mother's surname, then you can also search by surname Flatt + mother's surname Flatt, of course.

Thank you very much I will carry on searching and now feel that I may have better luck. George Flatt was my grandfather and it is his illigitamet son/daughter I am tracing as we have only recently found out about them my dad would love to meet up with his brother/sister as he is now mid 70s which means time is running out as this sibling will be older than he is.....thanks again
