Alviegal/Linda

Wow, give me time to take a breath, it's only been 10 minutes.

Many thanks

Household will be correct. Any Idea as to what I now do about Bertrum?

Hello Peter,
Found on Family Search.org Bertram Farren born 9-4-1906 Sheerness Kent and his death 1980 Melbourne Victoria.
His fathers name James Farr Farren Born 1880 Sheerness. Mother Elizabeth George born 1882 Sheerness. They were married 1904 Sheerness.
Hope this is of some help.
Pat from Australia.

A possible marriage from Victoria marriage index
Farren Bertram to Wood Sybil May 1934 reg no 2434

I also have the death index discs and I can not see the death in 1980 quoted above. It is on the IGi, I looked at it, but it is a submitted entry, submitted entries are sometimes suspect.

What I did find was

Digger - Death Index. Victoria 1921-1985

--------------------

Surname: FARREN
Given Names: Bertram
Father: Unknown
Mother: UNKNOWN
Death Place: BALL
Age: 57
Age Code:
Year: 1964
Reg Number: 1618
Event: D

The age ties in with his birth,
I think Ball is short for Ballarat, but maybe someone from Australia can confirm this

I'm so sorry everyone who replied to my request for help on Bertam.

I have taken on board all your answers, all very helpfull.

Mentally I've thanked you all and assumed you have recieved it.

Only just realised, things don't work that way. So, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.

So now my request is, 'what now' How do I find out if Bertram had family and do I have family down in the land of sunshine.

The electoral roll entry that ***alviegal*** gave you is the only entry for a Bertrum Farren and he is living with a Sybil May which ties in with the marriage that Linda gave you.
(She is also correct in thinking that 'BALL' means Ballarat)

You can buy the marriage certificate on-line, hopefully it would list their fathers names so you could confirm whether this is your Bertram (or not)

the web address ... https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/certificate-applications

If the death info. that Linda gave is for your Bertram, even though his parents are listed as 'unknown', the certificate should list all his children and their ages.
