SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN My husbands Father was born of Horace Everett b.1892 who was married to Alice Olivia Frostick b.1891 both from Romford. Horace's father was Charles Everett who married Julia Oxley in Romford on 6th April 1891. Charles' father was listed as Peter Everett (deceased) on his marriage certificate. My problem is that I cannot find a birth for a Charles Everett with a father named Peter. On his marriage certificate he was listed as being 25 so he would have been born around 1866. On the 1901 census I can find a Charles married to a Julia - his place of birth is listed as Suffolk, Avil (where is that? does anyone know?) Accoarding to the listing of children that he had the first one was born in 1886 - some 5 years before he married. All the other members of the family were born in Essex, Coggleshall area - that is if I am correct. Charles and Julia are the only ones I can find who had a son Horace that matches our Horace. I do hope someone can shed some light on this for me. I have already got 5 birth certificates and not one matches the above information. I would be so grateful if someone at least knew where Avil was in Suffolk. Val Everett |
