Member Since: December 2003 Posts: 0 Send Message	I'm trying to find my ancestors who have the surnames Ellis and steinhauer/Stinhaur the only thing I have is a signature on my Grandparents Wedding cerificate. I'll try and make this simple!: My Gandma, Margaret Prosser (maiden name Ellis) father was down as Herbert Ellis and her mother as Rhoda Steinhauer/Stinhaur, think born after the 1901 census because I am unable to find them on it, my Grandma, Margaret was born in 1927. My mum seems to think that Herbert and Rhoda lived in the Southampton/Hampshire area but I don't know this for sure and that my Grandmas parents split up or one of her parents died and remarried, so Im not sure entirley sure whether Rhoda or Herbert is her birth parent. Also my mum said that my Grandma had lots of brothers, sisters and step- brothers and sister becasue of the remarriage, therefore there are alot of Ellis's that could be my ancestors. I know there are lots of potential ancestors out there but because there was some kind of feud in the family at some point my mum never met any of her relatives on her mums side. I know all a bit confusing but I hope that someone might be able to help!!
