I'm having trouble finding them in 1871 census.
Could you give a bit more info on Joseph, his date and place of birth, and where were they living in 1871?

Same for the two girls??

Did you mean the 1871 census? I can't find them. You say they married in 1863 but had grandaughters in 1871?

This must be the birth for Elizabeth:-

Births Sep 1856 (98%)
Dulson Elizabeth Wem 6a 638

If you buy the certificate this will give you her mothers maiden name!!

Catherine

Catherine Report 2 Nov 2008 13:15

I wonder if he had a son called Joseph?
If so, then maybe it's his marriage in 1863?

There is a birth for a Joseph:-
Births Sep 1844 (>99%)
Dulson Joseph Wem 18 191

so could be possible?

Valerie

Valerie Report 2 Nov 2008 13:19

Also an ellen strange couldbe a possible

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 2 Nov 2008 13:25

I still can't understand how the Williams girls can be grandchildren. Valerie, you said their mother was Christianna Williams with no father named so Williams must have been her maiden name?
