James was the father of Robert, John, Jane and James (I know this from 1841 census). He was born abt 1806 in Lancashire. He was a brass moulder. He married somebody called Ann, also born abt 1806, but I don't know her maiden name. |

Sorry just realised my posting was a bit misleading. My ancestor was Jane Drinkwater her father was definitely James and they were together in 1841 with Ann (I assume James' wife) and Robert John and James ( I assume Jane's siblings). |

It may be that the rest of the family are on the damaged pieces of 1851 -they are mostly for the Manchester area. |

I suppose it's a possibility that the John in the 1861 census could be 2 not 20! The 1861 census shows another of my ancestors as being 4 years when in fact she was 4 month! Although it is a bit of a coincidence and certainly worth exploring. |

No, Ann, a 2-year old would not have the occupation of Iron Moulder! |

The same marriage is on the IGI - I guess I assumed you'd looked there, Ann |

I believe the James with Robert on 1861 would be his brother. |

No way of knowing if it is James Snr but there is this James in the Workhouse from the damaged pages: |

There was a family of Drinkwaters living in Clayton-Le-Moors Blackburn Lancashire in 1905. Could they have any connections. |

Thank you for all the responses, it certainly looks like something has happened to the parents. |
