Ann Report 11 May 2009 13:43

The Charles wao was getting married was a soldier living in London when he married in 1919 - His dad was also called Charles William Denman (deceased by 1919) and his profession was a Confectioner and that is all I know.

Re the York birth I thought that was favourite for a future confectioner -all those chocolate factories -and not too far from Darlington
Are you relying wholly on the marriage cert for the name Charles William as the father -if he was dead by then, there may have been no certain memory of his names, just an assumption they were the same as his son's.

Ann

Ann Report 11 May 2009 14:57

Yes Gillian - I have no other information - have you any ideas on what I can do pls - Cheers Ann

Gillian I have a death in fulham in 1946 for a charles william denman that would tie in with the york one - how do I go about proving that they are linked - help pls - new to this

GillianMac Report 11 May 2009 15:17

I am not sure how much info was provided on death certs prior to 1953 -after that you definitely got the date and place of birth of the deceased and it may be that this was provided before that date certainly you would get the name and address of the informant which might help
Can you read the names of the witnesses to the marriage -usually relatives which might give a clue
