I am new to this so please bear with me.I have family DeCantillon on the 1891 census and possibly 1871 Wales census along with family information through the years.I am trying to trace Edmund DeCantillon marrying Eliza (prob Elizabeth) in I think Cork, Ireland. I have been told of one entry at St Finbarr's South in Cork in 1851 but not sure if right one. I travelled to Cork in February to try to find out and was going to visit ST Peter and St Paul and North Cathedral Cork but ran out of time. The children I know of are William DeCantillon 1859, Elizabeth Esmerelda De Cantillon 1866, Arabella Lucas De Cantillon 1867, Thomas DeCantillon 1871, there may be others poss Mary Francis DeCantillon.I have obtained information from movements in the UK but am wondering if anyone knows of any baptisms or births in Ireland of these names and also Thomas died in 1939 in Wythenshawe, Manchester UK but dropped the De and was known as Thomas Cantillon marrying Annie. I wondered if there were any relatives of Thomas Cantillon of Wythenshawe out there. William DeCantillon my gg grndfather changed his name to Joseph Williams - why I do not know but I don't know how to find anything out about that unless anyone has any clues.I am not sure what year they arrived in Uk from Ireland. There is also a grandson called William De Cantillon born Liverpool b1879 but don't know who to.All dates are approx at present. |
