Hi, Clarissa DAY Does anyone know anything about the origins of this lady? She was b. ca 1789. She m. James BROWN at St.Dunstan, Stepney in 1816. They had two known sons James 1816/17 Houndsditch and John Henry 1819 Whitechapel. The family moved to Oxford some time between 1820-1836. Clarissa died in 1836, aged 47. Clarissa is entered as 'of this parish' (St.Dunstan) at her wedding to James, but I cannot find her baptism there. Therefore she could have been born anywhere in the country. A witness at her wedding was Mary DAY (sister? mother? sister in law?). A small painting ca 1800 exists in the family of a girl thought to be Jane DAY. This could be Clarissa, or a sister Jane. |

I have not been able to find where and when born regarding Henry Could he be your Clarissa's brother ? Families seem to name children after other members of their family.
