Hello all, just wondered if someone could help me find Robert Dawson, all I know is he was born about 1856ish.. had daughter named Elizabeth who was born @ 1880, unsure of wife (maybe Jane???. I have managed to find him on 1891 census, which states he was born Huntingdonshire... just wondered if a fresh pair of eyes could find out more....thanks very much in advance... |

Hi Julie, a bit wary whether I had correct family, are as there are a few Robert Dawsons with daughter Elizabeth of that age, Elizabeth was born Bishop Middleham, nr Stockton in Cleveland. Thanks... |

Diane..........Do you have either Elizabeths B/C or M/C as they will help to trace them....or do you know who she married, then we can work back for there |

Hi Julie, yes I have Elizabeths Marriage Certificate, she married John Boyes (managed to trace that side) on 25.2.1899. Her father was Robert Dawson Quarryman. It states she was living Bishop Middleham at the time of marriage... |

Thank you Tania and rootgather, the only thing confusing me about this one is this census states Robert was born Durham, whereas the other 2 state Huntingdonshire, do you think this is just an oversite? and still the same Robert, as the the area they are living in is correct.... |

He wouldn't be the first to give different counties of birth on the census! |
