I could not find Louisa Marie Cutforth either on freebmd (except for her birth) or on www.familysearch.org, which is the site that Ann was using.

fmailysearch is a free site run byt he Mormons, so you can look on there yourself ........... click on Advanced Search. Scroll down to International Genealogcial Index.

Be aware of the difference between EXTRACTED record (taken from the actual parish register) and SUBMITTED( information sent in by someone, usually a church member, and no backing documentation). It maybe but I cant confirm this as I have her parents being Sarah Ann Cole and William Cutforth married 20/04/1857. And the children listed in the census certainly are the same. But if you look up Louis Cutforth birth it states her name as Louis not Louisa very odd.

I think you will find that the Louis for her birth registration is a mis-transcription.

If you go to freebmd, get her entry up, click on the spectacle image ..... and ti takes you to a page where you can see the original image.

scroll down until you see View Original Image

click on that

Open file (unless you really really want to save an index!!)

Then scan the index, which is typewritten

Of course, somebody's law says that the entry one wants to read is the worst one on the whole page!!!


I enlarged it to 200 ................. and cannot be sure whether it is Louis or Louie .......... I think probably the former as that is what she terms herself on the marriage registration and on the 1901 Census.



As regards the 1891 Census ..... everything fits except for the mother's name!

I wondered if Sarah Ann had died, and William remarried ........ but couldn't find anything

I think that it is a mistake dating back to the enumerator transferring his collected notes onto the official pages at a later date!!



EDIT:- ca 4 am ..... "Louis or Louie .......... I think probably the former as that is what"
