I am looking for anyone that might be related to my family in anyway. My granny is called Maura and Granfather Gerry. They raised their children in Sligo and then moved to Dublin. They had six children.

Hi Sasha
My Partners name is Damian Bernard Cregg, he was born in Padiham, Lancashire in 1961.
His father James Brian Cregg was also born in Lancashire in Accrington in 1937 but Damians grandfather whos name was Bernard (Miner)was born in Sligo, Ireland. We know he had at least 1 brother called James (Miner)and a sister called Annie (horse trader), both also lived in Lancashire and raised children there.
How, when or why they arrived in Lancashire I haven't got a clue. I don't know much about the Irish side of the family expect things I been told my my father in law James Brian Cregg. Who said that his father left Sligo under a cloud (it seemed he got a young woman pregnant) and he emigrated to America. He stayed there for a little while but during the depression he moved to England where he married Edna and raised a family.
Its possible that you are related in some way as it is an usual name. But you would need to find the links from Slico to Lancashire, Sorry I can't help more only my father in law James Brian died a few years ago and I haven't any further information that I think would help you.
regards Suze
