Henry Crampton was the landlord of the Crown Inn at Walkley (Sheffield) in the 1881 census. He was born about 1840 and married Rhoda Kershaw about 1863. Rhoda was the elder sister of my great grandfather James Kershaw. They had a son (John Henry b. 1864 - an Insurance collector in 1901 census), then 6 more children of which I can find no trace (Willoughby, Harry, Alice M, Arthur, Nellie, Louisa, and William). I think that John Henry might have had a son called Willoughby in 1889. |
