My Grandad was named Sydney Cook,i have learnt from my mother he used to get nicknamed Topsy, for whatever reason of that i am unsure. He was born in Middlesbrough around the 40,s and was from the eston area.He served in the 2nd world war in the Duke of wellington regiment.Sadly he died suddenly at quite a young age of 44yrs,in which was before i was born,so sadly i never got to see him.at the time of his death his occupation was a fireman.I am lead to believe he has/had relatives in th eston and marton areas of middlesbrough, believed to be his siblings.I would be delighted to hear from anyone who could give me more of an insight of his life as my grandma has passed away over 10yrs ago and it isnt until you grow up that you become particularly interested in your family background and my only regret is not finding out as much as i maybe could/should have.Hope somebody out there may have some bits of information for me to help me with my interest.
