hi my name is lisa colledge and i am finding it hard to build my familt tree. my farthers name is peter colledge born 1956 my grandfarther name is arthur colledge born 1916 my great grandfarthers name is william colledge born 1870s i think. my great great grandfarthers name is edward colledge. That is as far as i can get. if antone can help me go further your help would be greatl appriceated.

Hi Lisa my mothers maiden name was jean colledge, I am new to all this but very keen to research her family I was only fourteen when she died and she never spoke of her father I think his nam e was Ernest colledge and my mothers was called dorathy foster.

Just to start you off, here's the marriage of your grandparents:

Marriages Dec 1928

Colledge Ernest H Foster Ipswich 4a 2562
Foster Dorothy R Colledge Ipswich 4a 2562

These are on a site called FreeBMD which is free for you to search. It goes back to 1837 but doesn't come forward to present day, and isn't complete. Up to the 50s is about the limit at the moment.
