I'm trying to find William Clarke, a locomotive engine driver from Glasgow born sometime before1890. I have his son's wedding certificate from 1913. ( William Clark b.1892 wed Florence Palmer in Cardiff) which shows his name as Clarke ( deceased ). I believe William Clark changed his name from Clarke, and was also born there. Perhaps in the Gorbals district.
Be great if anyone could help me.

Jean, can I jut ask how you know where they were born? Also wondering if William junior might have been in Cardiff 1911, have you looked for him?

Thanks everyone.
I know William Clark b.1892 had a thick Glaswegian accent, as recalled by his eldest grandson. He was nicknamed 'Jock'. He was in Cardiff around 1913, where he met Florence Palmer, but not on 1911 census. Don't know the reason why he moved here, or any links to Cardiff. His father is mentioned as William Clarke deceased on the 1913 marriage certificate.
Also beleived he served in WW1 for Highland Light Infantry and discharged from action approx 1916. Don't have any army records or medals.

Maybe the 1911 Scottish census might help? I believe it is out in April.
Just on the off-chance, what is William junior's occupation, just to double-check no sign in 1911? And the address he gives on the marriage cert please.
