My Name is ShirleySime (nee Lee). In our family tree we have a Isobel Chater who married a Luke Stuart in 1741, down through my family tree are the Stuarts, Archers, Fairbairns then Lees. The Fairbairn side of the family were always connected to North Shields in the North East of England and the family grave is situated in North Shields cemetry. The big question has always been that there is a Ann Chater (who died in 1894) named in this cemetry plot. It may well be that my great grandfather may have bought this plot which the authorities were happy to sell on as there was only the 1 named person who's grave was there. Is there any member of the Chater family out there in the North Shields (North East) who can help us get to the drop of this rather strange question ?? Thankyou. |
