Does any one have Elizabeth Chapman in there tree that may have married a James Jackson, around c1799 ,they may have been in the Heckfield area, at the time there daughter Charlotte was born.
Any help with this would be most welcomed.
Yours in success,
Glenn.

What information are you actually looking for?

CHARLOTTE JACKSON
Christening: 11 MAR 1799 Heckfield, Hampshire, England
Father: JAMES JACKSON
Mother: ELIZABETH
Batch No.: C139361

As Ann o' GG says, tree searches are far more likely to find related people than posts on this board; a small fraction of GR users ever reads the boards.

JAMES JACKSON
Spouse: ELIZABETH CHAPMAN
Marriage: 11 OCT 1773 Herriard, Hampshire, England

A record submitted by a Mormon; may or may not be true.

Seems a little early for a 1799 baptism.

Glenn, I don't actually think a 1773 marriage fits well with baptisms in 1797 and 1799! That's 26 years after the marriage, which isn't inconceivable, if you'll forgive the inevitable pun, but it's unlikely.

Gael's suggestion is at least more likely.

It seems you're after an Elizabeth Chapman only because of that 1773 marriage? which, as it stands, isn't substantiated, even.

Is it the 1799 daughter who is your ancestor? So what you're really looking for is the identity of her mother Elizabeth.

The IGI batch number for those two baptisms is C139361. It actually isn't listed in Hugh Wallis's compilation for Hampshire:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyHampshire.htm#H

But the corresponding marriage batch is M139361, for Heckfield -- marriages from the early 1700s to the early 1800s. There's no Jackson marriage in that batch unfortunately.

That Elizabeth was baptised in March 1797. This looks like her in 1851:

Name: Elizabeth Jackson
Age: 54
Estimated birth year: abt 1797
Relation: Sister
Where born: Heckfield, Hampshire, England

Civil Parish: Bathwick
County/Island: Somerset

William Jackson 63
Emma Jackson 54 - wife, born Purton, Wiltshire
Elizabeth Jackson 54
Elizabeth Jackson 53 - servant, born Purton, Wiltshire - surname is ISLES
Jane Saunders 26
Ann Warren 24

her brother:

Name: William Jackson
Age: 63
Estimated birth year: abt 1788
Relation: Head
Spouse's name: Emma Jackson
> Where born: Farnham, Surrey, England

Now, that could be a big clue!

IGI batch M069732

JAMES JACKSON
Spouse: ELIZABETH TRIMMER
Marriage: 25 AUG 1795 Farnham, Surrey, England
Batch No.: M069732

If that were his second marriage ...

IGI batch C069732

WM JACKSON
Christening: 13 FEB 1788 Farnham, Surrey, England
Father: WM JACKSON
Mother: FANNY
Batch No.: C069732

Well that doesn't work ...

There are several James Jackson baptisms in that batch as well.

But no baptisms with parents James Jackson and Elizabeth.

I wonder whether William in 1851 was generalizing his place of birth.

Interesting:

WILLIAM JACKSON
Christening: 07 AUG 1785 Herriard, Hampshire, England
Father: JAMES JACKSON
Mother: ELIZABETH
Batch No.: C139371

Now *that* could be a birth to the Jackson-Chapman marriage -- perhaps the same James's first marriage?

International Genealogical Index / British Isles

2. ELIZABETH JACKSON - Christening: 28 FEB 1779 Herriard, Hampshire, England
3. HANNAH JACKSON - Christening: 11 NOV 1781 Herriard, Hampshire, England
4. THOMAS JACKSON - Christening: 01 SEP 1776 Herriard, Hampshire, England
5. WILLIAM JACKSON - Christening: 07 AUG 1785 Herriard, Hampshire, England
6. PETER JACKSON - Christening: 06 JUL 1788 Herriard, Hampshire, England

If William Jackson the brother were born in Herriard to James Jackson's first marriage, and grew up in Farnham ... and fathr James remarried in Farnham and then had daughters in Heckfield ...

I don't know the geography. Does it work?

... Per google maps, it seems to: they form a rough triangle all about 10 miles from each other?
