I'm trying to find the name of the first wife of Ernest Arthur Chapam b. 1907 West Ham. When he married in March 1951 he was a widower but cannot find out when & who he married before.

He might have just said he was

When a couple of mine married she said she was a Spinster & he was a Widow.........Turned out she was a Widower & he was a Bachelor


Or he could have married and not used his middle name..if thats the case then it would be like looking for a needle in a hay stack

2 years later and I have found the information. Took a chance and obtained a marriage certificate which seemed to be at about the right time and hit the jackpot. Was then able to follow through and confirm details.
