Frank Chapman was born in Redruth in 1871, the latest information I can find him in is the 1901 census. He was living at 15 Palace Rd., Hornsey Middx., and atthat time was a Commercial Traveller (was an Apprentice Draper). I can not find him in the 1911 census. Can anybody help?

Can we assume that you have checked for a death?

Did he marry?

Do you know he stayed in London and/or UK?
Might he have emigrated?

I've also looked on the 1911, using all the different spellings of his name that I can think of - still no luck.
But
there is a Frank John Chapman, age 39, Commercial Traveller....born Greenwich Kent.....could this be a mistake???
It may be worth looking into.

Hi Flick
Yes I have checked for a death but I have no idea where he might have died. However a while ago I found a death record of a Frank Chapman, died 1908 born c1873 Apr- May-Jun age 35 Hampstead Vol 1a Pg 360, and another
Frank Chapman, died 1906 born c1875 Jul-Aug-Sep age 31 Shoreditch London Vol 1c Pg 82. The latter I discounted because of the age Variation (4yrs) the other is a possibility but I don't have the funds at present to take achance on buying the certificate.
Regarding Marriage, I found a possible in 1911 ! District Aston (Birm'hm) (Reason-family connections) also one in Wandsworth in 1902 and another in 1909, but again I don't have the funds at present to buy certificates. I expect in the end that's what I'll have to do. Thanks for your comments.

Karen
Thanks for your suggestions and your efforts in searching, I don't know anything about Frank after 1901 unfortunately, Frank had other brothers, one had a tie manufacturing business in Long Lane London during the 1920's and 1930's he might have worked fo him but its only a hunch. I wondered also whether he went up to Yorkshire where another brother lived and work in Sheffield but in the
Silver / brass and fine wire industry. Nothing yet has confirmed that though.

Frank's birth certificate shows his name as just FRANK CHAPMAN, but the Frank John Chapman you mentioned is worth looking into in case there is an error there. The other one also considering his brother was a "Metal Agent" and later a Manager in the company in Sheffield.

Thank you again Karen
