Hello,

I'm trying to trace my grandfather's family. My grandfather James Thomas Chapman, was born in Camberwell London in 1895. He was in the Navy, and was stationed in Plymouth where he met and married my grandmother Evelyn Rickard. He started in the Navy at the age of 12 as a yard boy, and remained in the Navy until 1928.

His parents were Frederick Chapman (1859 - c1922) and Ellen Younger, formerly Edmonds (c1856). He had two brothers and two sisters, Elizabeth (1891), George (1896), Dan (1898) and May (1900), and two step siblings Henry (1886) and Ellen (1890) Younger. His dad apears to come/live in the Cambewell and Kentish town area, and his mum was born in Peckham.

My grandmother and grandfather had five children James Thomas, Evelyn Jessie, George John, Amy Beatrice, and Daniel Leonard. They were all born and brought up in Plymouth Devon.

I know that I have relations in the London area, but do not know who, or where, and I would love to find out. I would be greatful for any information big or small.

Thank you,

Sandra
