Trying to find out any information on a George Chapman Born 1831 in Winscombe Somerset..Was a Farmer married to a Louisa Champeney who died in 1870 after giving birth to my Great Grandfather Harry Born in Wookey in 1869. George and Louisa's children six altogether went to live with their Grandfather Clement Champeney..And George then vanished ??? Cant Trace him any where ??????? Any Help or info would be most welcome.

Census image doesn't give birthplace for any of this family. Only that George is a relative and a visitor.

Hello Eric,

I have just come across your appeal for information about Louisa Chapman and George Chapman. I also am related to them through Rosina Minnie Chapman. She was the daughter of Harry Chapman and Emma (Fielder). And Harry was the son of George and Louisa Chapman of whom you are speaking about. Got there in the end. How are you related to Clement if you dont mind me asking? Its very interesting!

Just wondering, what would you like to know?! Unfortunately I also havent found anything for the whereabouts of George after the death of Louisa. There is a ‘story’ in my family about a suicide in London off of a bridge into the river Thames....possibly Harry or father George? nobody knew who exaclty and i know no truth..... although I now wonder if it could have been George as a result to Louisa’s death.

Any info, please share! Also would be interested in any info about Harry as he is the link from me to Clement Champeney as well!
