hi, trying to trace relatives of Ann Champion (born roughly in 1864)from the Dorset area. She married a John Bradley Hall and moved to Reading Berks where he was a sargent in the Royal Berks regiment Brock Barracks. They had 2 daughters and 3 sons, one whom was my grandad Frank Edwin. Any info gratefull recieved.

Hi Shirley,
although I can not immediately see a direct link between our families, I am very interested in the fact that your Ann Champion had a Dorset connection. Ann is also a name that appears in my tree. As you are probably very aware, Champion is not considered a Dorset name. I have traced my very mobile Champions to Sherborne, Dorset. 1794-1799. They may have then moved to Weybridge c 1800. At least 2 brothers - Abraham and Robert- and possibly a third, William, moved to St Heliers Jersey, where they owned brickworks.
The earliest I have in my tree is William Champion and his wife Honour who married sometime prior to 1788. They had William (?) c 1789, Abraham 1791, Robert 1793, Thomas c 1795, Mary Ann c 1798 Ann/Hannah/Honour.
Other families connected to this branch were Stone and Syms.
Would like to discuss your Dorset Champions.

have given you access to my tree, Ann Champion came from Willtshire,so dont know if still connected. If you find you are, I am in link with the descendants of several Champions, one who lives in Texas
