Find Ancestors

I am trying to find my grandmother whom I last saw 39 years ago, her date of birth is 05/04/1930 and she married in 1957 I have her birth details and that of her parents and of her daughter (my mum) and I have seen a copy of the record which shows she married in 1957, but after that I draw a blank, I also now she worked in the tower of london as a waitress, and she also frequented the east end of london can anyone help please

Is Caton her maiden name or married name?
Saying you have her birth etc without giving the info doesnt help us to look for her in the records

If you've seen a copy of her marriage, you must know who she married.

When asking for help, you should give ALL the info you have.

Caton appears to be her maiden name.

There is a marriage in 1957 and I can't see a death for her in her married name so it is 'possible' that she may still be alive.

Try Wayne/Tracy's thread, or Ginny's for an electoral roll look up?

her maiden name is caton, she was born in blackpool on 05/04/1930 her parents were Mary ann Caton nee mcgorry and james caton, she married between the months of april and june 1957 to a man called francis lepu in stepney, then there is a complete blank. There does,nt seem to be anyone else with the surname lepu no birth or death

If you type the name Lepu in the Keyword box above where it says Search ... you'll see all THREE of your posts for this family.

Also by going into MY THREADS (over on the left of this page - under Tools) you can bring up any thread you have been invloved in.

Those other two mike are 5 and 6 years old with no replies.

The THREE threads were over the last few years and not in the same week or same day Mike.

But thanks to someone on genes reunited I have had my nanna's marriage certificate delivered today.

Diana's marriage was on 15th June 1957 at The Register Office in the district of Stepney. so moving forward slowley

So far I have traced 3 addresses for Diana Mary Caton going back to the late 40's to possibly the 70's

after that it goes cold can anyone please check electoral rolls for tower hamlets area of london, I believe she divorced sometime in the 60's as the last time my mum saw my nanna in 1971 she was divorced from her husband, and she never re married

Have deleted the posting. But D Caton's details are on the Internet to view for free. Which is how I obtained them.

I was not for one minute suggesting that you would give 'private info' on someone, OR that you are in the least bit 'stupid'

However, you have posted this person's name, address and telephone number on here!

Anyone recognising these details will now, from info already on this thread, know the date of birth, marriage details, divorce details, details of her children etc.

She might not want all this to be 'public knowledge.

Anything posted on here is freely available to all via a 'google search', it does not just appear on this site.

To answer your question - No, I am not employed by GR, merely a member just like yourself.

However, it IS against the rules of GR to post such info as you have done on this site.

Please re-consider and send the info to Marianna via private message.

I do realise that all this info already 'floats around' the internet but most people will not notice it unless specifically looking.

However, when it is all 'joined up' on here with other details, it makes it so easy for people to use it for 'bad purposes'!! - I DO know people who have suffered greatly by others making use of such info against them.
