Do you have the marriage certificate? Is that the right marriage that has been found for you? If so they can't have been born in 1856.
If you have the certificate what was Robert's occupation, and his parents names and occupations? What was their address? How do you know about Isabella?
All these things would help us to find him.

thanks liz, my dates must be wrong somewhere. this is my mums family,as u can see i have robert caskie married jane smith 1860 hutcheston lanark glasgow. there daughter isabella cakie married james tarbert who had 6 sons, my mum,s father thomas tarbert was 1 of them he married sarah armstrong 1938 lanark bridgeton, this is where im stuck.even any information on the tarbert sons, james 1897,william1904 andrew1903 robert, john, whom i have no dates for, , thank you vicky.

I can't view this as it is after 1934 and these certificates need to be ordered.

There was a Thomas H born in Lanarkshire in 1917. Perhaps your grandfather?

Based on the above, I think this is Isabella's family.
