Have information on Norman Stinton Cartwright (1900-1972). We know he lived in Bute Street Stockton on Tees from 1952 -1972, possibly lived there before 1952. Would be interested in anyone who knew Norman. We have all relevant records etc but just wondering if he ever married or had children. Death cert does not mention a wife but he could well have been married at some point earlier in his life.
Any help gratefully recieved

Many thanks
Elaine

Have you tried a search on this site to see if anyone else is looking for the family
Liz

There is a member called George with this name in his tree - Liz

We have death cert for Norman and have found out that it was a social worker who registered the death....seems like Norman died alone!!. We have lots of info, certificates etc and people have been really kind but Uncle Norman is a real mystery.

Thanks for your reply

Have done lots of searching Liz. The people who have info on Norman have only got dates and that's because I gave them to them or they have got info from my tree.
Thanks for reply

Have you tried a street search on Friends Reunited? There are 3 members who lived there around this time. Worth a go!

Have searched so many marriages. Shot in the dark really....Uncle Norman of course, may not have married.....it would just be nice to perhaps find son or daughter!! It's a long and sad story....will keep plodding on.

Many thanks for help

I found an ancestor through a street search on friends reunited - a neighbour knew the family (from the l940's), and was able to give me an address for descendants. If you are not a member of FR and would like me to send a message, please let me know.

You should be OK - look where it says "quick search" -there is a drop-down box next to it where you can specify street (it says "people" to begin with).

Elaine, that's fantastic - thanks so much for letting us know. I often suggest FR but doesn't seem to work very often, so really nice to hear of your success.

Everyone is so helpful and very kind and it's amazing just what can be found out. You search for ages and ages and nothing crops up, then out of the blue you get information that just pieces things together. Still have a bit more to do on Norman but the info I have recieved is so helpful
Cheers
