Info on death of Peter Carrick

Can anyone help me?? I think my wifes dads great uncle died during the first world war. Problem is on trying various sites, there are 2 Peter Carricks born in Scotland 1884 who died. (one with the HLI and the other with the Cameronians). The info given is basic and there are no middle names, initials or names of parents given of the deceased for me to discount one or the other of these two men. Can anybody advise me how or where I could get this extra bit of info that might point to either one. Or is there a Carrick relative who might have info on this person.
