I am trying to found details about my great grand parents John Carr who married Alice Clarkson on 18/7/1897. John, at the time of marriage, lived at Clayton St and Alice at Hunter Street in Liverpool. John by trade was a french polisher and his father Francis a cooper. John & Alice had a son named James (my grand father) who was born on 22/2/1900 in the Liverpool Workhouse. James married Matilda O'Brien on 4/6/1922 in All Saints Church, Liverpool, and they had four children named James (my father), Mary, Matilda (or Peggy) & George Henry. Can anyone help me with more information?

Helen,
Thank you for your reply. This is the same James Carr. His mother Alice moved in with the Hughes' family as Alice's sister was Ellen Hughes. Do you have information about John Carr's parents? I know his father was Francis but I have no details about his mother!

Hi Minnie

Unfortunately I don't know when or where he was born. I only know that he worked as a cooper.

Hi Helen

Thank you again. You're correct this is Alices' parents. However what I'm keen to find out is more about John Carr's parents. I've explored numerous search records for birth certs and censuses but to no avail!

Hello Kayleigh,

Interesting to read that we may share the same ancestors. Do you have any more information about the CARR family? Since I posted my first message I have obtained some more information.
