Hi there, I am researching my Carmichael ancestors from Tarbert, Loch Fyne, in Argyll, Scotland. Basically I am interested in all the descendants of Malcolm Carmichael (1780?-1874) and his wife Elisabeth Macfarlane(1773-1843. Malcolm married Elisabeth in January, 1796 in the parish of Kilcalmonell and Kilberry, Tarbert, Loch Fyne. Malcolm farmed at Beldarroch/Mealdarrach for most of his adult life and may have supplemented his income with a bit of fishing at certain times of the year. He and his wife had a large family of ten children. These were born between 1796 and 1820. The childrens names were, in order of birth, Archibald 1796, John 1798, Mary 1800, Catharine 1803, Malcolm 1805, Duncan 1808, Unknown 1810, Dugald 1812, Malcolm 1815 and Duncan 1820. If any of this looks familiar to anyone researching Carmichaels in Tarbert, or the Argyll area in general please feel free to get in touch. I have far more info on my Carmichaels and their descendants than I can fit in this brief message. I am always happy to share info with other researchers. Grant Muckart Nairn Scotland |
