I have a marriage cert Andrew Young Campbell, (musician 26 father Joseph Campbell , publican), married Lucy Goodfellow (spinster age 18) on 18/12/1892 St Andrew Newcastle upon Tyne. Bride's father is noted as William Goodfellow deceased formerly a sailor.
One of the witnesses is A Goodfellow , the other looks like Alfred Steals.

I know that Andrew died on 5/12/1893 in Newcastle but am trying to find out what happened to his wife, did they have a child, did she re marry? but have not been able to find her on any census records.

any ideas?

thanks Janet

Thanks, that gives me information immediately before the marriage, I hadn't found that previously.

Guess 1901 will tell which of those she married and show if she has a child with her.

Looking at the 1898 marriage that has been posted

William Bransby is on 1901 census with wife Isabella - with Collier family

Jackson Lucy Campbell Tynemouth 10b 288

Might be worth getting the certificate to see who her parents were?

Janet

Janet Report 7 Oct 2009 19:17

do you think it is the correct family? if she was born in 1899 she would not be Andrew Campbell's daughter as he died in 1893, I have his death cert.

Sue C

Sue C Report 7 Oct 2009 21:17

Her name is Lucy Campbell Jackson, so obviously not Andrew Campbell's daughter.

However, she might be the daughter of Lucy's second marriage and may have been taken in by relatives of her first husband and noted on the census as their adopted daughter.

Birth certificate will be the only way to know for sure.
