I am trying to find out as much information as I can on my surname Callinan; my name is Christina Callinan. I know my Grandmother & Grandfather came from Limerick, Eire. My Grandmother's maiden name was Crotty, Chris Crotty. I also know that she was known as Tina Hickey at school; Tina being short for Christina (I was named after her) and Hickey was her Mother's maiden name-apparently it was a tradition in Ireland to be called by your Mother's maiden name during school years? The address was Fitzgerald's Cottages, Limerick; don't know if they are still there? Any information, or conections to the Callinan surname, not just in Ireland would be very interesting, Thanks. |
