Trying to find Bilton

I am searching for relatives of any of the Bilton family who lived in the Edmonton/Southgate N14 areas of North London. My family tree has grown quite well and I need more names: Those who are related to: Thomas Bilton b 1858 married Louise Cooper Emily (b 1872), Thomas S (b 1879, William (b. 1882, George (b. 1882), Harry (b 1884) Louisa (b. 1886) Alfred (b. 1888) Rose (b 1890) Richard (b 1894) Anne (b 1892) and my Dad, Sidney (b 1896). Hi David.

I just stumbled across your enquiry. I am also trying to track down my London based Biltons.

My problem is that my grandfather (George Thomas Bilton b1887) was in in India. His father, my Great Grandfather (also Called George Thomas Bilton, just to confuse things!) Was at the time of grandads birth serving as part of the British Army in India.

As yet I cannot trace an exact dob for G.T senior, although he would have been born about 1860.

I was wondering if your Grandfather Thomas Bilton had any siblings? the Age and area are about right. Do you have any records from either the 1861 or 1871 Census?

I know that this is a shot in the dark but you never know!

Hi Nick, my family tree might help you. Most of my family came from Therfield, Herts., Hertingfordbury, Herts and later Southgate N 14. I have not seen anything about serving in India during my research and, unfortunately, I don't know thier 2nd Christian names. I have several Georges and Thomas' in my tree. Hope this helps Most Biltons seem to come from the North but I believe there is one other Bilton family in or near London. Rgds David

Hi Nick - for the third time. Sorry my replies are a bit "bitty" Didn't read your msg fully. In reply, my gandfather's children were: Sidney (my Dad)b1895, Alfred b1888, Anne b1892, Richard b1894. Rose b1890, Harry b1884, Louisa b1886, George 1882, William b1881, Thomas b1879 and emily b1872.
My great Grandad b1822 (also Thomas Bilton) was married twice. Sarah Eaton b1824 and Susannah Luck b1840. One Son recorded, James b 1878. Rgds David
