I have an address for a John Bennett in 1914 at
21 Queenswood Ave Muswell Hill London he was born 1853 Islington .
Does anyone know if this address still exists & possibly the name of the occupant .
My Grandfather Francis Henry Bennett b 1885 had possible connections to John but I cannot find what it was .

Oh, and try and find the address in 1901 and check how it was enumerated. I can't remember at which point the numbering of roads became odd on one side and even on the other so it may have changed. Also, any alterations to road junctions etc may well have caused the overall numbering to have changed since 1911. You could try contacting a library local to the address to see if they have an old street map showing the numbered houses at the time that you can compare to today - just in case.

A very close Bennett relative ,Edmond George Bennett who was born at 189 High Holborn in 1914 it was a stationers shop,I have the birth cert .
Edmond was later adopted ,I have the details of his adopted family
The owner/employee of 189 High Holborn was a John Bennett whose home address was, 21 . Queenswood Ave ,Muswell Hill..

I need to know what the relationship was. between John & Edmond .

Yes that is correct .
the puzzle is ,my Grandparents Francis & Lily were seperated long before 1914 ,although they are entered on the birth certificate as parents of Edmond.
Somehow I doubt if Grandad was his father.
That is why I am so interested in John Bennett & his connection .could he have been a Uncle of Grandad ?.

I have Francis & Lily on the 1911 census living in Birmingham ,they returned to London about 1911/12 then Lily left the family home ,Mum [Doris Lillian Bennett b 1907 never saw her again .

Before I try it, have you traced these 2 familes back to see if there's a common ancestor?
