Barry Report 4 Mar 2011 15:04

I always thought my father was born 26th Jan. 1904 but have searched numerous sites for his birth record but without success. on the 1911 census it appears he was born in 1906, but still cannot find any birth record for him.
Does anyone have any suggestions

"I was aware that his death registration was in 1976, as I was the person who registered it, but I cannot understand why I cannot find his birth registration in 1906."

You could try for a birth cert from the GRO wihout quoting a GRO ref They will do a 3 years search using parents info etc. Check the GRO site for guidance.

Good spot, jax.

The birth certificate would confirm via the mother's name. There may well have been an error transfering the info from the certificate, and I think that could be corrected even now, if so.

The Arthur E/Edward Jarman deaths up to 2005 match up with other births.
